Maiden Blitz The Garden

Anyone still doubting the Worldwide Metal resurgence can think again. Last Saturday, June 24, IRON MAIDEN sold out their Aug 5 concert at MADISON SQUARE GARDEN in just TWO HOURS !! Maiden, who's current album BRAVE NEW WORLD is riding high in the Charts around the World, are naturally delighted.

Says vocalist Bruce Dickinson: "We've sold out The Gardens twice before but never this quick. We are told that the demand was immense so we will try to head back to New York for another concert before the end of the US Tour. New York fans have always been fantastic for us - the shows last July sold out in days and the reception was mind-blowing. We have been saying for a while that Metal is back with a vengeance and this is just another indication. "

Interestingly ticket sales included a record breaking number and proportion of sales via the internet which probably reflects the massive success of Maiden's definitive website,

This success follows other examples of Metal Mayhem on the band's current European Tour. London's 20,000 capacity Earls Court Arena sold out months in advance and in Stockholm they will play the biggest concert of any act in Sweden this year in the 32,000 capacity Stockholm Stadium .

Maiden's BRAVE NEW WORLD TOUR of North America kicks off on Aug 1 in Toronto and runs thru late September. To give the fans a very special concert Maiden have invited the majestic QUEENSRYCHE and ex-Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford's incredible new band HALFORD to join them on this leg of their World Tour. As a bonus this gives the fans a chance to see three of the greatest rock vocalists ever on one bill - Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford and Geoff Tate.
